Our childcare

This is where I can be and where I can meet the world

“Our goal is to create a place where both children and adults can feel emotionally supported. It is a place where people can communicate their thoughts, be accepted, and feel comfortable in being present. Our children encounter and connect with a wide variety of people, sounds, objects, and nature in the city, they discover different emotions and the importance of building relationships by valuing themselves and others.”

Features of childcare

Features
We practice childcare that starts with each child questioning, “what should I do today?” When a day starts with children deciding what to do, they gain self-confidence and assurance throughout the entire day.

About the relationship with children
We pay close attention and care to each child to bring out their individual abilities. Simultaneously, we make sure that their abilities can be demonstrated within a group setting.

Various festivals

Walking around town
In their daily life, children develop meaningful relationships with people, objects, places, and time. This process of establishing relationships can take place within our premises, but becomes more varied when walking outside. By walking around the city and its alleys, children expand their area of activity and encounter different phenomena. Walking Around Town (or Roji Machi Aruki) is a program that gives children this opportunity.

Children’s Museum
Children repeatedly encounter various objects, environments, and phenomena through their daily activities. The Children’s Museum (or Kodomo Bijutsukan), is where we showcase their works that traces the accumulation of their daily life encounters. In addition to the works, we also carefully document their art-making process.

small alley festival
This is a day where adults and children share joy by experiencing a special day that is apart from daily life. The process of planning and preparing the festival provides great learning opportunities for children.
